PROCEDURES FOR OBTAINING VISAS FOR FRANCE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These legitimate requests are not part of NEGAR’s mission, as defined in its articles of association, and we are therefore unable to accede to the wishes of those making such requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, given the distress felt by these Afghan men and women and their families in France, we can suggest a few procedures to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are in Afghanistan, you should try to reach either Pakistan or Iran with a valid passport.

Applying for a visa at a French embassy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asylum VISA
or Long Stay VISA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afghans mainly benefit from the visa for asylum system, which is unique in Europe and which France opens on an exceptional basis to meet particularly urgent and obvious protection needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the closure of the embassy in Pakistan in April 2021 and the subsequent closure of the embassy in Kabul, the French embassies in Iran and India<\/a> are, according to the Ministry, responsible for examining visa applications from Afghans.At the end of September 2021, the French embassy in Pakistan reopened its doors to visa applications from Afghans present on Pakistani territory.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given the restrictions on access to France for countries considered to be red zones for the circulation of SARS-COV2, such as Afghanistan, only certain categories of unvaccinated people can obtain a visa<\/a>. These include French nationals, people living in France and their families (family reunification) and families of protected persons (family reunification).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the three embassies, you need to fill in a visa application form in advance on the France visas website<\/a>, then make an appointment by contacting the service provider, which charges a fee for India<\/a> and Iran<\/a>, or by emailing<\/a> the embassy in Tehran. If you manage to reach Tehran, the procedure is fairly quick (between one and 4 months).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FROM IRAN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can fill in the following forms on the website of the French embassy in Iran, which will be able to arrange an appointment for you after examining your file and if you have all the required documents. The procedure takes at least 9 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FROM PAKISTAN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
